While jewelry exports reached $920.7 million in December, total jewelry exports increased by 79.5 percent in 12 months and reached $6.781 billion.

Jewelry Exporters’ Association announced the jewelry export figures for December. Production, based on TIM data, in December, exports amounted to 920.7 million dollars with an increase of 205% compared to the same period of the previous year. Thus, jewelry exports in 2021 reached a record 6,781 billion dollars with an increase of 79.5% compared to 2020.

The Most Jewelery Exported to the UAE

In the last 12 months, the most exports were made in the United Arab Emirates with 1.22 billion dollars. The UAE was followed by the USA and the UK. The ranking of the top 20 countries in jewelery export was as follows;

Evaluating the jewelry exports, Mustafa Kamar, Chairman of the Board of the Jewelry Exporters’ Association, said: “As we always say, the jewelry industry is a strategic industry... Despite the pandemic conditions, we carried out export activities by stepping up as of the beginning of 2021. We opened new ways for our members to export by creating opportunities for digital meetings within the framework of the conditions of the day. In this way, we have worked in coordination with all levels of our government and produced solutions in order to increase jewelry exports and ensure that they were put into practice. Thus, we closed last year with a great record. We believe that we will perform better this year and bring the Turkish jewelry industry to the position it deserves in the global arena.”
